Getting Back to It

It's been a while since I've gone a week without posting. The past week has been super busy. Things are rolling full steam at the college with lots of things pulling me in all different directions. I also had a lot of other stuff going on this week. I had the grand opening party for the new shop that I was doing all of the food for. That took up a good chunk of my week getting everything ready and then this weekend I had to go to Omaha on both Saturday and Sunday for a weekend of training to become a practical evaluator for the ACF. It was a marathon of work. I was gone 16 hrs on Saturday and another 14 on Sunday but the training was good and I'm looking forward to continued work with the ACF.

Today I had the funeral for Greg our owner at the shop that passed away. This was a pretty tough one to go to. It didn't help that just a little over a year ago I was at the same church doing the same thing for our other owner. Greg treated me well and took care of me at the shop.

As far as cycling goes it's been almost non existent for the last week. I only had time to get out on Tuesday for Crit practice and on Thursday for a spin on the mtb. I've got 2 weeks until the next race and I'm really starting to focus on it. I'm going to hit it pretty hard this week putting in a lot of hours on the bike with a lot of intensity. I'm hoping to keep up my momentum from the last race. I can say that I feel a lot more confident. I was able to get out tonight even though I really didn't want to. After all the time spent working this weekend and then spending the afternoon at the funeral and all of the emotions I was exhausted and just wanted to lay around but I knew if I got up and got out I would feel better and that is exactly what happened. I took out the mountain bike to wilderness and did a nice tempo ride through the park to blow the cobwebs out of the legs and get them ready for the onlsaught this week. After getting home I feel much better but I'm definitly going to get to bed early tonight. Later.

Wow Harp, a lot on the go. What was up with the shop owners if not too personal?

Lots of work and not enough bike adds up to my kind of happenings. So be careful.
