Climbing

When I woke up today it was raining. As I did my core workout this morning I was surprised to hear on the news that it wasn't supposed to rain all day and we might get some sun in the afternoon. When I started my last class of the day at 1 I looked outside and it was raining again. My hopes for riding outside weren't very high. When class got over and I was heading to my office I finally saw a window again and was shocked to see the sun shining. I walked outside and it was about 60 and sunny. I was stoked and thought to myself that today might be a good day for some climbing.

So I headed home, changed and was off to pioneers park on my mountain bike to climb the biggest climb in the park over and over. I like to climb and I feel it is one of my stronger points. During the races that is when I always catch and get around people. The only problem is in my area the only singletrack we have doesn't have any climbing in it but the paved trail in pioneer park has a nice climb(for those of you that know the park it's the one by the sled slide). It's not terribly long but it has a good grade and the rough and bumpy track is similar to riding offroad.

The paved trail loop through the park is long and mostly flat so I was only riding a section of it to get the most of my time on the climb and as the day went on I kept shortening up the loop so that I was getting back to the climb quick as possible and know I have a nice quick section where I'm back to the hill quick. I climbed the hill 10 or 11 times. I lost count at one point so I made sure I did at least ten. This was a good workout for a day when I didn't have a lot of time to train. I will definitely be doing it again. Man I really love climbs. Later.

Harp the Hill Master! I hate hills... But I did somethings similar last night. I went around the neighborhood and rode ever hill I could find. Some of them I did twice. I as going to go over and ride the dam at Holmes lake, but the ground is too soft. I pounded out paved miles.

That's Friday night for me Harp if the weather holds. We have one nice mountain bike climb close to home here called Deep Cove Mountain. Goes from sea level up to two cellular towers. I do it with the MTB every now and again in the summer.

Hey B. That sounds like fun. I need to find a climb like that.
