Resting with Tuna

Ended up not having to work tonight at the links so I made my way over to see my buddy Andrew at Midwest Seafood to talk about a couple of things that we got in the works for when and if the weather ever warms up. While I was there he hooked my up with a nice piece of nice Sashimi Grade Yellow Fin Tuna. In my mind there is no more beautiful fish than fresh Tuna. Worked out pretty good that I got the fish since I haven't been to the store for a while and my fridge is looking pretty bare. So I quickly cooked up some gingered brown rice and did a quick sear on the Tuna and finished it with black sesame seeds and yuzu vinegar. My wife, daughter and I were pretty happy. I couldn't get my son to eat it ever. Wish I could have had some veggies to put with it to up the nutritional value but still a good meal for what my wife refers to as my cycling diet.

Other that tonight was a rest night and tomorrow is core in the morning, bikeshop later in the morning and since we are going to have a high in the upper thirties with wind and snow it will probably be a 2 hour effort on the trainer.

Also since I'm thinking about Tuna and fish still if you're interested I'm going to start posting more about my cooking of fish and seafood on my other blog poissonier. For some reason lately I've been thinking about fish and how I can do more with it.

That looks delicious. I hadn't heard of black sesame seeds before.

Black Sesame seeds don't really taste any different from white they just look better for some things.

Hmmmm, NE from OH. I could be there in about... 14 hours? Deal?
I am SO into fish, I could eat it 24/7, my wife not quite that into it. But we both really dig sushi. I am super into tuna. I had this crazy spicy tuna, if I remember correctly it was a Thai recipe.

I'll let Dominic read your other blog. He loves to cook gormet foods. I like the non-fishy tasting fish, like mahi, tilapia, stuff like that. It's getting down to 30 here in Cinti, so more layers for my long run this weeks. Sucks.

Let loose with some recipies Harp! I so want to try some new things. Like we discussed on the way to Maskenthine, I'm the only one at my house that likes fish so it will be my own, special treat.
