It's funny how things change over the course of a few days. My post on Sunday I wasn't going to be anywhere close to racing on the road and now I've been sitting here tonight working on the "future" bike build.
As some might have noticed I am very excited that I will be spending some time riding on the Flatwater Team bike the Felt F2 SL. I'm getting a huge hook up and getting a frame. I'm going to build this frame up mostly from parts off my current road bike, borrowed parts and a few new parts. I still have to watch how much I spend. I still can't go all out and trick this thing out with the top of the line components. That doesn't mean I'm going to go cheap either. I'm just going to do it slowly and as I can afford it. I'm going to use a lot of SRAM rival parts. From what I've heard and seen is that the rival components perform as well as the Red and Force but weigh just a bit more (grams) and have a lighter price tag.
Pretty much right now I'm just still trying to take in how fortunate I am. It is a motivating factor to get my training back in line. Last week I was feeling a bit weak and tired and was having trouble making it through some of my workouts so at the end of the week I took it easy and started back up again yesterday and felt stronger than I had in a while. I am motivated to take full advantage of my opportunity and not let anyone down.
Another nice thing is that the weather is going to be a bit warmer tomorrow and the next few days so some time outside will definitly be nice. Tomorrow night after work I'm going to meet up with some of my team and get some night riding in. This time I'm going to try to remember to take my camera and get some pics. Should be fun. later.
