Road Tempo

After work today I headed out for a 1 hour quick tempo spin. My knees felt tight and kind of ached all day so I didn't want to push it to much. The ride felt good and reminded me that more training on the road will do me more good as I continue through my race season. I haven't really been to excited about the results I've had so far and I think if I continue to build my aerobic and anaerobic ability.

I've also been thinking about this weekend and I don't have any work so I think I'm going to try and get a good long ride in on Sunday morning. This weekend is also the only weekend in May that I don't race. Right now I have 3 race weekends in a row and I'm thinking about adding another to my schedule which would make it 4. Of course I'm not sure as I think about it I don't want to overdue it but I like to race and want to get as many in as possible. We'll see.

Now I got to go get some stuff ready for tomorrow. It's some ride time in the morning and then a huge off premise catering at the College Presidents house with my students. Later.

Yeah that was me. I thought I recognized the car.

I would have stopped and talk but I was meeting someone to help me move furniture last night.

Have you had a professional bike fit done? If not then it might be good idea to look into this because of your knee niggles?

I love racing, too, and can't get enough. However, last year I had 30 races under my belt by May/June and was toast came September ...

I've been thinking about a bike fit. I just need to look and see if there is any close by.

I had one done in January this year. I highly recommend it. I didn't have any niggles or problems but feel that I'm using all my muscles more equally now. For some weeks after the fit I had problems with my hamstrings. I think they weren't strong enough in comparison to the quads. Now the hamstrings have grown stronger and I feel I have a lot more power.

Also - I used to use zero float cleats but have been recommended to go to cleats with some float to avoid knee problems.
